John’s Obituary John Lawrence Gorsegner, 86 passed away Thursday March 12, 2020 at the YRMC Yuma, AZ. He leaves his wife of 66 years, Geraldine Gorsegner at the family home in Yuma, AZ., daughter Sheri Gorsegner Matz, in Washington, granddaughters Shannon and Rachel Matz, in Washington. Son Don Gorsegner and his wife Elaine, in Arizona and grandchildren Marilyn(Jason) Fitzpatrick, Don J. Gorsegner, in Arizona, and great grandchildren Oliver, James and Margaret Fitzpatrick, sister Sandy Russo in Idaho, brother John(Jill) Nichols, in California, Born in Port Angeles, WA., raised his family in Arlington WA., and retired in Yuma AZ. After graduation from Hills Naval Academy, Bainbridge Island, WA in September 1951, Joined the US Navy, married Geraldine in 1953, served in the Korean War and was discharged in 1955. John served for 18 years for Volunteer Snohomish County Fire District 18, Serving as Chief for 5 years. He Worked as a Journeyman Machinist at Western Gear Co. for 25 years and retired from The Boeing Company after 5 years. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Club, Veteran of Foreign War, and 53 year member of the American Legion. Lifelong members of Good Sams and Escapees RV clubs. John also volunteered at the YRMC for 10 years. Graveside Services will be Friday March 20,2020 at Sunset Vista Cemetery in Yuma Az. Read More
