Obituary Joan M. Adkins Age 79, of Magnolia, passed away Wed., April 22, 2020. She was born March 14, 1941 in Detroit, MI, a daughter of the late Donald and Mary (Anstead) Stanton, and resided in the Canton, Waynesburg and Magnolia area most of her life. Joan was a 1959 graduate of McKinley High School, and was retired from Dr. William Neidert’s office, where she was a stem therapist. Joan was a member of The Fellowship of The Little Country Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James R. Adkins, on August 13, 2012, a son, Brian L. Adkins, on April 10, 1997, and an infant granddaughter, Tiffany Mae Adkins. Joan is survived by three daughters and a son, Susan Mutigli, Rebecca George, Amy Bierworth, and James R. (Belinda) Adkins II, 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Faye (Scott) Phillips. A private family graveside service will be held in Sandy Valley Cemetery with Pastor Ted Knapp officiating. There will be no public visitation.
