Howard’s Obituary Howard Eugene Cox passed away April 15, 2020 at his Yuma, AZ winter residence at the age of 93 of natural causes. He was born May 21, 1926 to John Bell Cox & Martha Theodore Norden Cox in Jarbalo, Leavenworth County, Kansas. Howard was the third oldest of seven children. He was married Feb 1, 1953 to Lorene Reetz Cox in Eudora, Kansas. His occupation included agricultural farming and trucking based from their farm in Linwood, KS. Based in NYC, he was in the U.S. Navy during 1944-1945. He is survived by his wife of 67 years and daughters Marilyn Cox Whitenton (Philip) of Yuma, AZ, Sheri Flory (Paul) of rural Baldwin City, KS, and daughter-in-law Jodette Cox of Lawrence, KS. Grandchildren: Mary Ellen Cox; Jacob (Amber) Cox and daughter; Alex (Hannah) Cox; Jason (Dedra) Mathia and 3 daughters; and Jessica (Gabe) Reding and 2 sons. Siblings surviving are Dorothy Moffitt of California, Mary Imboden of Idaho, Chris Cox of Nortonville, KS, and Nancy Hall of Lawrence, KS. Howard was predeceased by their son David Eugene Cox on Aug 9, 2010, and siblings Leora Bluestone of California and Barbara Comer of Lawrence, Kansas. Cremation is being handled by Sunset Vista of Yuma, AZ. Services will be held at a later date.
