Grace Florence Yates, 95, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2020 at Port St. Lucie Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was born in Trenton, New Jersey on February 11, 1925 to Russell and Blanche Helsel. Grace graduated from Trenton High School in 1943 and was employed in the secretarial field. In 1947, she married her husband of 70 years, A. Norman Yates, from Princeton, NJ. Grace enjoyed her roll as a full time homemaker while rearing their two boys, Norm and Don and then later returned to work at Trenton State College during the 1960s. In 1969, the Yates family moved to West Palm Beach, FL where she was employed at Jefferson Davis Middle School until her retirement. In 1988, she and her husband moved to Port St. Lucie, FL. Grace is preceded in death by her husband, Norman (2017). She is survived by sons: Norman R. Yates (Linda) of Medina, OH/ North Hutchinson Island, FL and Donald A.Yates (Nancy) of Port St.Lucie, FL; grandchildren: Jennifer Yates Pirtz (Jason), Alie Yates Gros (Dan), Parker Yates (Jen), and Jonathan Yates (Emily); great-grand children: Blake Pirtz, Kennedy Pirtz, and Henri Gros. Due to COVID-19 there will be no viewing or public services at this time.
