Garland’s Obituary Harris, IA Garland Barnett age 68 of Harris, Iowa died Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Pearl Valley Care Center in Lake Park, Iowa. Garland Wayne Barnett was born on January 17, 1952 in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Frank and Frances (Rhodes) Barnett. On October 2, 1982, he was united in marriage to Robin Melton in Harrisburg, AK. To this union two children were born, Christopher Lee and Missy. In 1994 they moved to Iowa. Garland and his wife were later divorced but continued to be friends. Garland drove truck for Forbes House Moving Company for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting. He loved the outdoors either walking, riding around, or sitting on the patio or around a campfire with his family and friends. Garland was known for joking around with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed. Garland is survived by his two children, Christopher Lee Barnett (special friend, Marye Swanson) of Milford, IA and Missy (Nick) Holbrook of Hospers, IA; two grandchildren, Silas Alan Holbrook and Jax Wayne Holbrook; nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Frances Barnett; sister, Linda Barnett Pierce Roper and brother, David Barnett. Read More
