Billy’s Obituary Mr. Billy Junior Nix, age 83 of Pat Colwell Road, Blairsville passed away peacefully on Sunday April 19, 2020 at his home following an extended illness. Billy was born on December 30, 1936 in Blairsville, GA., son of the late Ed Francis Nix & late Willnell Shepherd. Billy was a lifelong resident of Union County; he also dearly enjoyed mowing grass. Billy was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by a brother; Cyne Nix and a sister; Shirlene Nix. Survivors include his loving wife & best-friend of 54 years; Ann Nix of Blairsville, two sons; Richard Nix of Ellijay & Tim Nix of Helen, a sister; Dimple Donelly of Jasper, niece; Vickie Shackleford of Jasper, and a grandchild; Houstyne Nix. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday April 22, 2020 at 12:00pm from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Hyde & Rev. Jo Dan Wilkens officiating. Interment will follow. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers; Bobby Warren, Richard Nix, Tim Nix, Houstyne Nix, Larry Helton, Charles Long. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 10:00am-12:00pm prior to the service. Flowers are being accepted, or if you wish the family requests that donations be made to the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery fund.
