Steven McPeak August 25, 1950 – March 19, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Steven Lyle McPeak was born on August 25, 1950, the first-born son of Lyle Eugene and Shirley Rose (Miller) McPeak. He departed this life at the age of 69 on March 19, 2020, at Mitchell County Hospital. Steve grew up on the family farm Southwest of Glen Elder and attended Naomi Country School, Glen Elder Grade School and graduated with the Class of 1969 from Glen Elder High School. Following one year of Vo-Tech at Beloit, Steve became employed by Orval Range at Waconda Boats and Motors in Glen Elder. He continued his work life with Richardson Manufacturing of Cawker City and Kent Manufacturing of Tipton, where he put in many years of service in the fabrication department. Behind the steering wheel of his pickup and farm trucks was where Steve loved the country scenery and he hauled many loads of wheat and other crops for the family farm. Steve was baptized in the Glen Elder Methodist Church on August 20, 1961. He was a charter member of the Glen Elder Lions Club and enjoyed the many activities and projects with his fellow Lions members. He was preceded in death by his father Lyle, his grandparents Arlie and Martha McPeak of Glen Elder, and Rudolph and Callie Miller of Downs. He is survived by his mother Shirley, his brothers Marty (Carla) McPeak and Barry (Darcel) McPeak, all of Glen Elder; his nephew Jeff (Lindsay) McPeak, his nieces Michelle (Ron) Dubbert, Kelly (Andy) Schardt, and Mackenzie McPeak; his great –nieces and great-nephews Peyton, Brenna, Carter, Kennedy, Grady, Evalyn, Theo and Delilah, his Aunt Ardis Jones of Lawrence, and many cousins and friends. Family graveside services will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Glen Elder. Condolences may be sent to the family or the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Glen Elder Lions Club or the Glen Elder United Methodist Church.
