Mr. Sterling Eugene Miller August 24, 1944 – March 22, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Sterling Eugene Miller, 75 of Long Island, Virginia entered into eternal rest at his residence Sunday, March 22, 2020. He was born August 24, 1944 to the late Park Virginia Miller. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Logan and brother, Vernon Miller. Sterling attended the public schools of Pittsylvania County. At an early age, he joined the Riceville Missionary Baptist Church. He moved to Washington, D.C. for a number of years, before returning home. Sterling was employed at The Lane Company in Altavista, Virginia until its closing. Sterling was known as “Lighting” by many. He had an immense joy for reading comic books and watching televisions. His favorite shows to watch were Westerns, Andy Griffith, and Judge Judy. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Alice Faye Miller; his children, Jennifer Miller, Marla Miller, Maurice Miller all of New Jersey, Jacqueline Barley of Gretna, Virginia and Isacc E. Lewis of South Boston, Virginia; two brothers, Kelly Miller of Washington, DC and John Miller (Mary) of District Heights, Maryland; six sisters, Jerlene Chavis of Annandale, Virginia, Betty Dixon, Denny Coles, Lois Miller, Thalia Diane Miller and Brenda Poindexter (William) all of Gretna, Virginia; two devoted nephews, Anthony White and Randy Miller and a host of other relatives and friends.
