Earl O. Myler, Jr. of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday night at Indiana University Hospital East in Avon.  He was 79.

Born July 22, 1940 at Alvin, Illinois he was the son of the late Earl, Sr. and Clara (Hall) Myler.  He married Sandra Weston in June 1961 at Rossville, Illinois.  She survives.

He graduated from Rossville High School and later attended the University of Illinois at Champaign and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor degree in accounting.

Mr. Myler was the founder and owner of Myler Church Building Systems.  Since 1980 his business built over 1,300 churches nationwide.

He was a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church and the Crawfordsville Elks Club.  His interests included reading, studying Lincoln and Kennedy and piloting his airplanes.  He had also written books about the church building process.

In addition to his wife, Sandra Myler, he is survived by: daughters, Susan (Danny Kidwell) Gillikin, Cori (Billy) Hallett and Molly (Scott) Stockwell, all of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Wesley (Dom) Fruits, Kayla (Cody) Rogers, Katie (David) Lopez, Lee Stockwell and Conner Stockwell; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Steve (Karen) Myler; sisters, Ellen Ervin, Pat (Gene) Herron, Robin (Jeff) Elliott and Dawn Davis.

Due to public health concerns, private services will be held Monday at Burkhart Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Wilke officiating and burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North.  A public celebration of life will be held later this year.
