Obituary SUMMITVILLE, IN-Mary Ann (Brotherton) Key, 84, died March 19, 2020, at St Vincent’s Hospital in Anderson following recent health issues. She was born December 24, 1935, in Anderson, the daughter of Ira & Mary Pearl (Cooper) Brotherton and resided in the Summitville area her entire life. Mary Ann was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School, Class of 1969 and attended business courses at Ball State University. Aside from raising five children, she held various bookkeeping positions starting at Cooper’s Service Station, Beneficial Finance, Cox’s Supermarket and retiring from Byerly Garage Doors in 1988 after a bookkeeping career spanning 35 years. Mary Ann enjoyed activities such as bowling, bridge club and travelling in their RV with her husband. But her greatest achievement was the love she had for her family and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Survivors include her children Donald (Judy) Key, Vanessa (Gary) Hosier both of Alexandria, Dennis (Marla) Key, Anita Key-Brobst, both of Summitville; Grandchildren, Darrin (Alyssa) Key, Heidi (Antonio) Quinones, Emilie (Joe) Carpenter, Mickey (Amanda) Hosier, Christopher Brobst, Malinda (Brian) Cuneo, Betsy (Aaron) Zarse, Holly Brobst, Barrett (Anastasia) Key, Monty Key, Bradley Key and Becca Key-Kerr; 26 great-grandchildren; Brothers Fred (Jane) Brotherton of Alexandria; Carl (Katrin) Brotherton of Glasgow, Ky Sisters-Iva Mae McKinney of Chesterfield; Charlotte (Bobby) Pugh of Alexandria; Several nieces and nephews Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years Elmer Key in 2011; a son, Robert Key; a brother, John Brotherton; a grandson, Douglas Key; and a granddaughter, Tiffany Key. Out of respect for the personal and public safety, private services for Mary will take place for her very immediate family. Interment will take place in Park View Cemetery.
