Just 8 days after his long-awaited arrival, Lucas Alan McFarland, passed unexpectedly from his earthly life at 4:49 am on Friday, March 27, 2020, leaving his parents and extended family heartbroken. The perfect little angel, born on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 2:41 am in Bloomington, Indiana, weighed 6 lbs. 9 ounces and was 19” long with a head full of dark hair. Though his life on earth was far too short, he was loved and adored beyond measure! Those left behind who are mourning his loss are his loving parents, Jerimiah Cody McFarland and Hayli Nicole Curtis of Martinsville; paternal grandparents, Jeffrey Scott McFarland of Cambridge City, IN and Valerie Kay and Robert Kanady of Sevierville, TN; maternal grandmother, Tami S. Curtis of Martinsville; maternal great grandparents, Ernest and Brenda Grant, Jim and Donna Sigo and Dwight and Kathy Curtis all of Martinsville and two maternal aunts, Alissa (husband, Justin) Vondersaar and Kassidi Curtis both of Washington State. Lucas was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tony A. Curtis in 2009. Due to the current restrictions created by the COVID 19 outbreak, a celebration of Lucas’s life will be announced when the situation allows, and all restrictions have been lifted. We wish to thank you for your support and look forward to celebrating Lucas’s life at a later date. Please share memories and condolences with the family online at
