Obituary Presque Isle – Elmer Roger Oakes, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020. Roger was born in St. Francis, Maine on November 19, 1924, the son of Herbie and Leanna (Daigle) Oakes. He graduated from the University of Maine after serving two years during WWII in the US Army. While at the University, he was a member of Phi Mu Delta Fraternity and manager of the varsity baseball team, and met the love of his life, Geraldine Keenan, whom he married September 4, 1948.
