Clayborne Walker December 09, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Donate Funeral Funds Clayborne Nelson Walker age 80, a lifetime resident of McMinn county, passed away Monday morning December 9, 2019 at a Chattanooga, Tn hospital. He was a member of Star Bethel Baptist Church in Etowah, TN, where he served as a deacon for a number of years. He was retired from Bowaters Paper Corp., after 40 years of service. He served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Walker and mother, Ida Walker-Mooney, and his wife of 38 years Bobbie Jo Walker, brothers TC Walker, June Walker, Calvin Walker, Maynard Walker, Hoover Walker, and sisters, Elizabeth Jones, Marie Simmons, and Hattie Carlock. Clayborne will be forever missed by his children, Lesi Walker Dwight (Gerald Dwight), Clay Walker and George Walker both of Cleveland, TN. His sister, Hettie Dickey, and Clementine Strong. His stepsons, Terry Browder, Charles Browder, Richard Browder, Trevor Browder, Jeffrey Browder and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home- Athens, TN., with Rev. James Parris officiating.
