Obituary MARS HILL – Charles Andrew Mountain passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at the Presque Isle Nursing Home. He was 91. The son of Louis Napoleon Mountain and Bibiana (Murphy) Mountain, Charles was born and raised in Dexter, Maine. He graduated from high school in Dexter and then attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Pharmacist while stationed in Japan. He owned and operated the Rexall drugstore in Mars Hill for many years. His post retirement project of Christmas Tree farming kept him busy and outside where he loved to be. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling with his friends, and spending time with his family at his camp at Conroy Lake. He was a member of the American Legion and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, both in Mars Hill. Charlie is survived by his wife, Joan (Audette) Mountain, three daughters, Gail Mountain of Independence, MO, Jane Stephenson of Presque Isle, ME and Lisa and her husband, Clark Scott of Bridgewater, ME and five grandchildren Amanda Hopkins of Independence MO, Jenna Norton of Presque Isle, ME, Jonah Stephenson of Mapleton, ME, Colby and Carson Scott of Bridgewater, ME and two great grandchildren, Zakariah and Alixandria Hopkins of Independence MO. He is also survived by two sisters Louise Cyr of Westfield, MA and Cynthia Robinson of Dexter, ME. He was predeceased by two brothers Jerry Mountain and Phillip Mountain and two sons, Jere Mountain and Dana Mountain. A Memorial Mass will be held later in the Spring and announced in the local papers.
