Obituary Alice T. Duffy (nee McGuigan), March 26, 2020, Age 94. Wife of the late Philip Duffy. Mother of Philip (dec), Isabelle Rogers (Kenneth) and Kathleen Salotto (Art). Grandmother of six, she is the sister of Catherine Reilly, the late Mary Logue and brother to the late(s) John, Joseph and Francis McGuigan. Services and interment are private. Donations may be made in her memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor www.littlesistersofthepoor.org. Alice was born in Kilrea, County Derry, Ireland on May 17, 1925. She came to the United States at 9 months old. She married Philip Stanley Duffy on September 10, 1949. Alice was a loving and devoted wife and mother to Isabelle and her husband, Ken with grandchildren: Philip (PJ), Ryan and Megan and Kathy and her husband, Art with grandchildren: Matthew, Michael, and Katie. She had two daughters, but also gained two sons whom she cherished along with Torianne and great-grandchild, Sophia. Alice was extremely proud of and adored her grandchildren. She worked as a secretary for the Veterans Administration for years and then concentrated on her mother and relatives as a caretaker and guardian. After the death of her beloved husband, Philip Stanley Duffy, 28 years ago, she courageously moved on with her life, making her family the focus of her life. She was always there for her daughters and grandchildren being such an inspiration to them through her faith in God and energetic work ethic. She was an active member in the Immaculate Heart of Mary church senior citizens club and participated in all their activities and parties. Three years ago, as her memory started to decline, she moved to Autumn House East, a senior living community in York, PA. She actively participated in their daily activities and was beloved by all the staff. The staff knew everything about Isabelle and Kathy and were always given Werther’s candies. Alice was truly at peace and delighted to be reunited with her husband, Stanley, the “love of her life”, along with the rest of her family and friends. Alice was always reaching out to assist others and even helped plan her own funeral. She is no doubt checking in with God right now to see if he needs a hand with anything. A remarkable and awe-inspiring woman who we were blessed to have as a mother. We will miss you dearly Alice, but I know you are looking out for all of us. To plant a tree in memory of Alice T.
