Obituary Virginia Louise “Gin” Davenport Bryan, age 53 of Lincolnton, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at her residence. She was born August 24, 1966 in Laurens County to Charles Davenport of South Carolina and the late Frances Maddison Davenport. She was employed at Cosette Pharmaceuticals in Lincolnton. Gin was always a dedicated employee and hard worker. She enjoyed fishing and going out with friends. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She had a great love for her dogs, Cain and Lucy and the late Spike. In addition to her father, she is survived by her children, Michael Samson and wife, Keisha, Bill Samson, Joe Lewis, Jennifer Heavner, and Mindy Fuller and husband, Melvyn; boyfriend, Ralph Swink; grandchildren, Devin, Chris, Ashlee, Abbi, Mason “Mya” Samson, Max Blumke, Jada, Latrell, and Zoey Fuller, Skyler Lewis, and Raegan and Savannah Heavner; best friend and sister, Glenda Johnson; and siblings, Thomas Davenport, Ellen Tierce and husband, Catlin, Carolyn Davenport, and Ann Black. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 4:30 to 5:45 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 6:00 PM with Rev. Catlin Tierce officiating. Burial will be private.
