Obituary Troy Milton Cox of Asheville, North Carolina, died Saturday, February 22, 2020, at John F. Keever Solace Center. Troy was born in Ontario, California, on October 14, 1949, to Paul Milton and Opal Owens Cox. He served as an Army Ranger during the Vietnam War in the early 1970’s. He was a Sergeant in command of a Special Unit called LRRP (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol). After the war, he attended Chaffey Junior College and California Polytechnic State University. Troy worked in the home building arena before he moved to Asheville in the year 2000. Troy is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ruth Cox of Asheville; his sister and brother-in-law Melba and Bill White of Upland, California; his son Paul Cox of Upland, California; and his two grandchildren Jacob Paul Cox, 27, and Brooklyn Cox, 20, of Sacramento, California. A private Celebration of Life will be held next week. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CarePartners Hospice of Asheville, North Carolina.
