Susan C. Shields, 79, of Danvers, passed away at 7:33 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal surrounded by her family. A private burial will be held at Park Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Susan was born on June 18, 1940, a daughter to Edna Schuette. She married Richard Shields on September 5, 1959, he preceded her in death on August 29, 1992. Surviving are her daughters, Cathy (James) Crabtree and Connie (Gregg) Shields, both of Normal, and Lori (Richard Radcliff) Shields of Danvers; granddaughters, Amy Shields and Melissa Lowery, both of Normal, Sarah Lowery of Missouri, Carrie Shields and Janice Crabtree, both of Normal; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and her brother, Charles Hassier. Susan loved her family, puzzles, and going on walks. She never knew a stranger and was a very giving person.
