Obituary Funeral services for Paul Arthur Waits, 47, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at West Columbia First Church of the Nazarene with visitation 2 hours prior to the service (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.); 350 Wattling Rd, West Columbia, SC 29170. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Burn Foundation of America online here or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Paul passed away February 24, 2020. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Anita Waits and the late Paul Harmon Waits. He served 16 years with the Lexington County Fire Department. Paul was an AVID Clemson Tiger fan and also loved NASCAR where he followed his favorite drivers in Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Dale Sr. Paul enjoyed dirt track racing, deer hunting, as well as WWE wrestling. Most importantly, he loved his granddaughter with a passion. Paul is survived by his mother; son, Paul Austin Waits (Jordan Whitney); daughter, Shannon Waits; granddaughter, Emma Marie Waits; sisters, Paula Waits and Amanda Livingston; nephew, Justin Shealy; and niece, Savannah Livingston.
