FALL RIVER, MA—Norman J. Potvin, 92, a lifelong resident of Fall River, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband for 71 years of Florence M. (Loiselle) Potvin. A son of the late Alfred Potvin and the late Germaine (Bonnoyer) Potvin, he attended Fall River schools and worked for many years at the American Wallpaper Co., in Fall River. He was a active communicant of the former St. Rock’s Church. He was an avid Boston Bruins fan, and in his later years became a volunteer at the polls during elections in the city. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Susan Thibault and her husband Conrad of Tiverton, and Nancy Deschenes also of Tiverton; two brothers, Robert Potvin and Romeo Potvin both of Fall River; a sister Lauretta Michaud of Swansea; three grandchildren, Renee Pimentel and her husband John, Kyle Thibault and his wife Laura Sisca-Thibault, and Amy Deschenes and her husband Brendan Sullivan; three great grandchildren, Lily Pimental, Aidan Sullivan and Kyla Thibault; also nieces and nephews. Arrangements held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Annelle Delorme-Hagerman Food Pantry, Church of Our Saviour, 2112 County St., Somerset, MA 02726.
