GREENFIELD – Mindy S. (Vogel) Johnson, age 63, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 after battling cancer for 3 ½ years at Suburban Hospice of Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in New Castle on December 31, 1956 to James A. and Patricia “Pat” Sue (Adkins) Vogel. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1975. Mindy married Philip E. Johnson on August 7, 1992. She worked for Unique Printing & Labels for 35 years. Mindy was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She cherished spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren’s activities. Mindy is survived by her husband, Phil Johnson of Greenfield; mother, Pat Vogel of Greenfield; brother, Jim (Terri) Vogel, Jr. of Greenfield; sons, Blake (Jeri) Wampler of Greenfield and Tyler (Regina) Wampler of Wilkinson; step-son, Bryan (Jessica) Johnson of Jacksonville, FL.; step-daughters, Lindsey (Michael) Carter of Shirley and Leslie (Jim) Kern of McCordsville; and 8 grandchildren, Mia, Easton, Emery, Ethan, Ellis, Chance, Colton, and Hollis. She was preceded in death by her father, James Vogel, Sr. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Sue Ann Wortman Cancer Center at Hancock Health Foundation, 801 North State Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140.
