Obituary RAPOSO, MARY (TAVARES) 91, of Colvin St., West Warwick, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 21, 2020. Mary was predeceased by her husband Louis A. Raposo in 2004. Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Sousa) Tavares. Mary was employed as a lace puller for many years before retiring. She worked at the former Lippitt Mill and Hope Valley Dye. Mary was a life communicant of Saint Anthony Church where she belonged to the Holy Rosary Sodality of the Parish. She and her late husband Louis belonged to the Portuguese Cultural Society. Mary loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and preparing family Sunday dinners. Mary enjoyed playing Bingo at several local Churches, the Casinos, and at Clyde Towers. Mary was a member of the West Warwick Senior Center. Mary attended the Hope Alzheimer’s Center in Cranston. She was the mother of Theresa Bergeron and her husband Paul, and Rosemarie Silva and her fiancé Edward A. Fonseca, all of West Warwick. She was the grandmother of Dominique R. Andrews and her husband Benjamin and Matthew J. Silva. Mary was the sister of Dorothy Leonard of West Warwick, and the late Irene Tavares, Lydia Mendes, Angelina Messier, Antonio Tavares, Louis Tavares, Joseph Tavares, and Manuel Tavis. She was the sister in law of Pauline Tavares of Florida. Her Funeral will be Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 10:30 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in Saint Anthony Church. Interment at Saint Mary Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours are Monday evening 4:30 to 7:30 pm.
