John Patrick Gourlay, age 67, passed away Sunday, February 23 2020 in McLaren Bay Region Hospital after a long illness. John was Born on March 31st 1952 in Detroit and is the son of Alice (Murphy) Gourlay, and the late John Gourlay. John and Wendy (Learman) we’re united in marriage October 16, 1976 in Harbor Beach. John served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. John worked for over 40 years in the heating and cooling business and was also a master plumber. John enjoyed hunting, golfing and fishing with his brothers, watching his grandson bowl and his grand daughter play basketball. He loved spending time with family. John is survived and loved by his wife Wendy, his daughter Sarah and husband John Wiederhold, his son Josh Gourlay, two grandchildren Brody and Kaydence, all of Harbor Beach. John is also survived by his mother Alice Gourlay of Traverse City, his brothers; Mickey (Patty) Gourlay, Jim (Doris) Gourlay, Steve (Kim) Gourlay all of Traverse City, Mark(Lea) Gourlay of Port Huron, Matt (Sharon) Gourlay of Marysville, his mother-in-law Judith Learman of Harbor Beach, his sisters and brothers-in-law: Heidi (Steve) Roberts of Gladwin, Jody (Steve) Kosal, John (Louann) Learman, Holly (Willie) Hale all of Harbor Beach and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father John Gourlay, his father-in-law Earl Learman and brother-in-law Steve Roberts. Cremation has been take place at sunset valley crematory.
