Mr. J.C. Barnard Jr., age 85, of Arab, passed this life at Marshall Medical Center North on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Mr. Barnard was born in Victoria, Texas on March 19, 1934, to John Cecil Barnard Sr. and Bertha Lee Hall Barnard. He retired from Redstone Arsenal in 1989 as a readiness analyst but continued to work as a tax accountant in his hometown of Arab for many years. J.C. proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict and was a member of the Arab First Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching any type of sports and was an amateur golfer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife and traveling partner, Laverne Teal Barnard; his daughter, Torre Alldredge; and one brother, Garland Barnard. J.C is survived by his brother, James Barnard (Deanna); two grandchildren Whitney Jones and Jacob Alldredge; and three great-grandchildren, Dalton Maze, Taylor Maze, and Evelyn Alldredge. A visitation for Mr. Barnard will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Sunday, February 16th from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place following the funeral at Marshall Memorial Gardens in Albertville, Alabama.
