James Troy Watson Sarepta, LA Funeral services for Mr. James Troy Watson, age 77, will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA with Rev. Todd Pickard officiating. Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, at Bailey Funeral Home. Mr. Watson was born on January 9, 1943 to Robert Sevier and Emma Durham Watson in Old Washington, AR and passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at his home in Sarepta, LA. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he loved having family over so he could cook for everyone. He was a practical joker that kept everyone laughing, even at the expense of the dog. Mr. Watson proudly served his country for 38 years in the U. S. Army. He loved talking about the service and his love for our country. Outside of his career, he was an avid classic car enthusiast. He loved buying, restoring, and selling various late model cars. He was also a talented artist who taught classes after attending the Bob Ross Art School once retiring from the military. He was an established craftsman of wood and had commissioned for a bulldog for LA Tech. As you can tell, he enjoyed life. He is survived by his wife, Sunday Jester Watson of Sarepta, LA; daughter, Donna Watson Lewis and husband, Ted of Sarepta, LA; two sons, Jim Watson and wife, Carla of Benton, LA, Kenny Watson of Sarepta, LA; ten grandchildren, Seth Watson and wife, Lesley, Bre Grantham and husband, Justin, Cortney Anderson and husband, Michael, Hayden Lewis, Erin Watson Hall and husband, Zach, Audrie Watson, Bobby Gragston, Sawyer Stephens, Gunner Stephens, Piper Stephens; three great-grandchildren, Lakyn Farrington, India Hall, Grey Watson; three sisters, Peggy Worthey of DeQueen, AR, Mary Barnhart and husband, Hugh of Longview, TX, Bonnie Shapley of Hope, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth White Watson; brother, Bobby Watson; and sister, Judy Watson. Pallbearers will be Justin Grantham, Michael Anderson, Robert Blake, Billy Byrd, Zach Hall and Drew Warlick. Special thanks to Stephanie Warlick Brown and Sheila Lloyd for their loving care.
