Helen’s Obituary Helen M. Brewer, 93, of Oxford, Mississippi, passed away at her home on Monday, February 24, 2020. She was born Friday, February 4, 1927. A Graveside Services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Mendenhall City Cemetery in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401 Mrs. Brewer was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband Riley Shankle; parents, Nicholas and Edna Briegger Loftus. Survivors include her two sons, Charles Shankle (Deborah) of Taylor, Mississippi and Steven Shankle (Catherine) of Abbeville, Mississippi; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great- great-grandchildren; one sister, Dolly Longmire of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and a host of other family members and friends.
