He was born May 30, 1932 in Denison, Iowa the son of William Suntken and Gerdina Schipper Sunkten. He was an employee of the US government with the U.S.D.A. and a sergeant in the US Army having served in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his son, Scott Sunkten of Gypsum, CO and a daughter, Gail Mason of Papillion, NE, along with his extended family and friends. A memorial service with military honors will be 11:00AM, Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR. Memorial Funeral Home of Springdale handled the cremation arrangements.
