Edna Rose Roberts Lavergne passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the age of 77. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St Augustine Catholic Church in Basile with Father Kennon Brown celebrant. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery in Basile. ]At the request of family, visitation will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home of Basile with a Rosary being recited at 9:30 by Deacon Mirley Espirit. Edna is survived by five sons, Nelson Lavergne and wife Jackie, Calvin Lavergne and wife Sheila, Rayfield Lavergne and wife Deloris, Kenneth Lavergne and wife Patricia, Michael Lavergne and wife Tracy; two daughters, Sandra Turner and husband Lonnie, Barbara Sonnier and companion Nick Hunter; one sister, Eula Simon; eighteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Olena Matthews Roberts; her husband, Nelson Lavergne; four brothers, Joseph (Chick) Roberts, Dozlie (Slim) Roberts, Dallas Roberts, Calvin Roberts; four sisters, Leana Lena Roberts, Dorothy Roberts, Mary Roberts Victorian, Beatrice Pappillion.
