Dean’s Obituary Loy Dean McCoy, 81, of Tontitown, passed away in Rogers on January 30, 2020. The son of Buck and Wilma McCoy, he was born March 8, 1938, in Huntsville. Known as “Dean,” “Dad,” and “Pa,” he was a husband, a dad, grandpa and a friend of many who cherished every moment they were able to spend with him. He had a way of making people feel important, listened to, and loved. His warm smile and gentle chuckle brought joy, cheer and happiness to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A graduate of Huntsville High School, Dean served honorably in the United States Army working as a communications and intelligence NCO eventually returning to Arkansas where he retired from Southwestern Bell after 32 years. He went on to farm and dabble in real estate. He married Cora Lee Bolinger on April 25, 1975. They raised 5 kids together, they took care of each other, they made friends everywhere they lived, and they served as anchors of kindness, wisdom, help, and support for their family. They knew how to have fun together, they watched out for each other, they teased and fussed at each other, and were lifelong best friends. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, his son Danny Johnson, his father-in-law Ewen Bolinger, his mother-in-law Cloe Bolinger, sister-in-law Paulette Bolinger, and sister-in-law Pat Bolinger. Dean is survived by his wife, Cora Lee; his children, Jeff Johnson (Natalie), Kim Tyson, Doug McCoy, and Shelly Bishop (Chad); his grandchildren, Chasity Johnson, Brandy McDonald, John Randal Tyson, Olivia Tyson, Jordan Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Cole Bishop, and Emma Kate Bishop; five great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Dwain Bolinger & Delbert Bolinger; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dean attended Cross Pointe Community Church in Tontitown where he built friendships and faith that he cherished very dearly.
