The family will greet friends and visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2020 at Bishop Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at First Assembly of God Church in McAlester officiated by Rev. Todd Turner and Rev. Joseph Mullins. Cremation will follow. Pallbearers will be Chuck Sutterfield, Charlie Pope, Dillon Pope, Marc Roberts, Jason Pope, Ethan Young, Heath Johnson, and Jarit Baxter. Catrina was born on August 31, 1982 in Claremore to Mark and Mary Jo (Rios) Pope. She graduated from McAlester High School in 2001. Catrina received an Associates degree from Eastern Oklahoma State College and two Bachelors degrees from Southeast Oklahoma State University. She worked for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service and as a stocker for Wal-Mart, and volunteered at Rowena McElroy’s home day care for 13 years. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother: Carmen G. Dugan, paternal grandmother: Alice L. Wood, cousins: Travis Buckles and Shannon Bailey, and an uncle: Paul Pope. Catrina is survived by her daughters: Jaiden Tubbs and Carly Pope; parents: Mark and Mary Jo Pope; sister: Carmina Tissington and husband, Joshua; nieces: Carmen Parker, Charli Tissington, Maria Tissington; nephews: Bobby Parker and Sebastian Russell. all of McAlester; great-aunt and great-uncle: Cathey and William Smith; grandfather: George Thomas Dugan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and friends.
