Obituary Barbara Lynn Brizendine Smith, 59, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at her home. A native of Phelps, Kentucky born June 5, 1960, she was a devoted homemaker who loved cooking and motorcycle riding. Barbara was passionate about her Primitive Baptist faith and her family. Surviving, are her mother, Margaret Brizendine; 2 daughters; Kelli (Benji) Kendall and Jamie (Mark) Rayburn; her longtime companion, Vigil Smith, a god-son, Jamie Lee Wolford; 2 brothers: Terry Neil Brizendine and Paul Michael “Mickey” (Nora) Brizendine; 2 sisters: Donna Kay Smith and Jackie (Michael) Casey; 4 grandchildren: Cassie Lynn Wolford, Cheradun Frances Wolford, Christopher Ryan Wolford and Carson Wolford; and her best friend, Marie Hager. Preceding her in death were her husband, Levi “Bill” Smith, and her father, Everett Brizendine and a brother, Jerry Brizendine. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 14th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Jimmy Lee Smith. Burial will follow in Battle Grove Cemetery. Family & Friends will serve as Casketbearers. Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Thursday with services at 7:00 P.M. To send flowers to Barbara’s family, please visit our floral section.
