Wanda L. Greathouse, 77, of Bloomington passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Wanda was born on February 6, 1942 in Bloomington, Indiana and was the daughter of Joseph and Nellie Marie (Hughes) Axsom. She Attended of Bloomington High School. Wanda retired in 2005 from Indiana University in Bloomington after over 30 years in food service’s department where she was head of pastries and then in the she worked in the women’s locker room at the Hyper Building. Wanda was a member of Tops. She enjoyed reading. shopping, and her dog trigger, she loved her family especially her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Wanda is survived by her husband, Daniel C. Greathouse of Bloomington; her daughter’s, Lynn Carroll (Tommy) Carroll of Bloomington; Julia R. (Arlon) Smith of Vienna Virginia; her grandchildren, Cody, Jacob, Jalena, Julianna; five brothers, Billy Axsom of Brown County; Willis (Eva) Axsom of Georgia; Lee Axsom of Harrodsburg; Wayne (Sue) Axsom of Stanford and Lester (Kim) Hall of Spencer; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Axsom and Nellie Hall and her sister Patty Hackler. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old St Rd 37, in Bloomington. burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Friday January 17, 2019 and from 9:00am service time Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wanda’s name to the American Diabetes Association. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
