He is survived by his three daughters, Lesley Vincent (Spouse Rick Vincent) of Catoosa, OK, Lisa Mitrik (Spouse Michael Mitrik) of Jenks, OK, and Chelsea Pfannenstiel of Wichita, KS, his sisters Carol Dugan of Niles, KS, Lillian Lee of Chandler, NV, and brother Tony Pfannenstiel of Portland, OR. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Leland Pfannenstiel. Walter was born in Hays, Kansas April 6, 1946 to Anthony and Annabelle (Jacobs) Pfannenstiel. He moved to Salina in 1950, and played high school basketball for Ell-Saline High School. Walter lived most of his adult life in Wichita. Walter, true to his last name, owned his own steel, iron, and metals business for many years, JP Steel. He also worked in scrap metals. He was extraordinarily handy, and worked many remodels of homes and businesses. Walter was certainly a man of passion, and put his all into every task that came before him. He was an avid sports fan, with a particular affinity for the Kansas City Chiefs, KU Jayhawks, and WSU Basketball. He also rarely missed a golf tournament, especially if Tiger Woods was playing. Upon his request, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Leukemia Society and Hospice Foundation of America in care of Baker Funeral Home 6100 E. Central Ave Suite 203 Wichita, Kansas 67208.
