Appalachia, Virginia Velta Fleenor, 89, of Appalachia, went to be with our Heavenly Father on January 6, 2020, at Mountain View Regional Hospital LTC with her beloved granddaughter, Mistti, by her side. Velta was preceded in death by her husband Charles Fleenor, her parents Judge and Blanche Potter, and sisters Alvena Massey and Neitha Wainwright. Velta is survived by two sons, Charles “CJ” Fleenor of the home and James “Jim” (Tammy) Fleenor of Waukomis,OK; grandchildren Mistti (Richie) Lane, Big Stone Gap, VA; Shawn (Laci) Fleenor of Edmond, OK; Michelle (Cody) Scott of Piedmont, OK; Justin (Megan) Fleenor of Tulsa, OK. Great-grandchildren Steven (Kala) Lane, Andover, VA; Zachary Lane, Big Stone Gap, VA; Cassidy Lane, Big Stone Gap, VA; and Ruegger and Caeley Scott, Piedmont, OK; and great-great-grandchildren Ella and Sawyer Lane of Andover, VA; Jonathan and Gilbert Lane of Big Stone Gap, VA. Special companion, Kenneth Sowder of Appalachia, VA; Sister Varina (Jim) Askew of Alabama. And several nieces, cousins, and friends. Family would like to thank all the staff at Mountain View Regional Hospital LTC for providing loving care to Velta over the past several months. The family will receive friends at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home Friday, January 10, 2020 from 12 noon to 2 pm with services beginning at 2 in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Garrett Lee.
