Sarah’s Obituary Sarah McGregor Higgins, age 99, passed away in Sebring, Florida on January 28, 2020. She was born on October 6, 1920 in Glasgow, Scotland to Leonard Eveleigh and Sarah Whyte. Sarah had been a Highlands County resident since 1986 coming from Sarasota, Florida. She was of Methodist faith and a proud member of the Eastern Star. Sarah worked as a secretary in the US Military. She is survived by her children, Donald (Virginia) Higgins of Madison, WI; Diane Carol Higgins of Okauchee, WI; and Pamela H. Hey of Danville, CA; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard & Sarah; Richard M. Higgins (1st husband); John Fay (2nd husband) and her sister Ruth Black. The family would like to express their gratitude to the many caregivers and Good Shepherd Hospice that have touched Sarah’s life, and have been touched by her. A special thank you to Dr. Bassetti for his compassionate care for many years. Services will be held in Madison, Wi at a later date.
