Werra, loving husband & father of 3, passed away at the age of 80. Bob was born on August 8, 1939 in Galloway, WI to Edward Werra and Ann Koziczkowski. Much of his character was shaped by the time and the circumstances of his family. He was the 4th of 10 children; his family, like many others, struggled to survive the great depression & WWII. Frugal doesn’t even begin to describe his personality; his prudent, cautious, thrifty habits were created at very young age. He began his real estate career early while still in Wisconsin, purchased his first property in Dallas in 1974 and built Univesco, a prosperous real estate development company. Rather than a resume of Bob’s countless accomplishments, this is a remembrance of the man and the characteristics and qualities that allowed him to create the extraordinary life he lived and that made him so loved and well respected. Bob was a complex yet humble, humble man; known for his strong conservative values and determined work ethic. He was extremely intelligent and thoughtful; he liked to think through all angles of an issue and prepare for any contingency. He was a perpetual student, he never stopped learning, reading and growing. Just as financial growth was important to him, so was personal growth. He knew he could fix or build anything necessary – in his words ‘if a man built it, I can fix it’! Some of the adjectives that describe Bob include honest, straight forward, fair, steadfast and fearless. Bob was a big-hearted, giving individual even at the end when he donated his body to medical research. He is known for both his unwavering loyalty and kind generosity. For an independent and strong willed man Bob was amazingly collaborative, collecting the opinions of those closest to the decision to make sure he hadn’t missed anything. Bob’s friends were of paramount importance to him. He loved spending time with his friends. It was crucial to him to stay in touch with his many friends and do things for them, to help them with their projects. Of course, after a hard day’s work, he loved a beer & a shot of bourbon. He was an infamous ‘re-gifter’, loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He had fun being strictly literal. He must have fallen in love with his elementary school English teacher because he believed that old saying ‘words have exact meanings’ and played word games with everyone daily, correcting their use of the language. Among of his many passions were flying, hunting, skiing, bicycling, traveling and maintaining an active lifestyle. Bob is survived by his wife Nancy, the mother of his children Juanita Werra, their children John, Gary and Karen, and 2 granddaughters Peyton and Kendall. A memorial service will be held February 7, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Hunters Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Rd, Plano. Dress is casual, as Bob would want it that way.
