In Loving Memory of

Doris G. Doyle

May 26, 1944 - January 22, 2020

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Doris G. Doyle, aged 75, passed peacefully from this earthly life at her home on, January 22, 2020, while surrounded by her family, after a two year long battle with a recurrence of cancer.

Doris was a dedicated and faithful Christian woman and wife. She was a member of the Centerville Road Church of Christ congregation for several decades, was a Bible School teacher affectionately known to many as “Teacher Doris”, and enjoyed participating in the Ladies Day and other worship events in service to others. Doris also cherished her roles as a mother and grandmother. She treasured her daughter and two grandchildren and embraced each and every moment with them. She especially loved her role as MawMaw and was always there to support her grandsons through every special milestone and was in attendance for all of their events and activities. Doris had a sincere, generous and caring personality, wonderful sense of humor, and always went out of her way to make the people around her feel special. Doris was someone who never slowed down, was a very hard worker and continued to work full time through age 73 until just two days prior to the surgery two years ago that would change all of our lives forever. Doris was employed at Work Wear Safety Shoes, where she worked for over 21 years, and was also the recipient of several awards for her hard work. Doris made friends easily and her customers also cared for her as well and would frequently not make their purchase if “Ms. Doris” was not working that day. Doris was an amazing cook, a keeper of an immaculate house, a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed arts and crafts, and was an amazing cook. Truly, she was such an incredible cook that it bears repeating. She enjoyed preparing food for others and would frequently take food to others in need. She would think of others before herself, and she would frequently spend time visiting others who were shut in or suffering from illness.

Doris was preceded in death by her Father, Dennis D. Ladd, and her Mother, Vera Ladd of Tennessee. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Randolph Doyle, her daughter, Dorinda Underwood, her son-in-law Christopher Underwood, and her two grandchildren, Parker Underwood and Camden Underwood. Doris is also survived by her sisters Pat Hamlin and Faye Imbriaco, and her brothers Dennis Ladd and Larry Ladd along with her many nephews, nieces, close friends, extended family, and “adopted” children that she welcomed into her life along the way. All of these she loved and treasured deeply.

Visitation will be at Williams Funeral Home in Garland, Texas on Sunday, January 26th, 2020, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. We will celebrate her life with a service to follow from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with burial to follow in Garland Memorial Park.
