Obituary Pearl Edwards Blackburn Whitman Thomson, GA – Mrs. Pearl Whitman, 79, entered into rest January 21, 2020. Mrs. Whitman, was born in Wilkes County, but was a lifelong resident of Thomson, and was the daughter of the late Robert Edwards and the late Annie Bell Newsome Edwards. She was a homemaker, avid sport fan, a little league baseball coach, kept score for many softball games at the recreation department, and loved to fish. Mrs. Whitman was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a Baptist by faith and attended Pine Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitman was predeceased by her husband, John Whitman and brother, James “Redbird” Edwards. Survivors include her son, Lee Blackburn of Martinez, grandchildren, Kyle Blackburn and Savannah Blackburn; great grandchild, Jude Blackburn; and niece, Michelle Edwards.
