Huston Sr. Living Center. She was born August 13, 1929 in Valley Falls, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Frank and Mary Margaret Hollis Gillum. Mary was a homemaker in her own home for many years, she then worked as a cook in the nursing home in Valley Falls for 10 years. She married Dale Richard Courter on December 13, 1945 at Oskaloosa, He preceded her in death in 1991. Other survivors include one son, Richard “Rick” Courter, Nortonville, two daughters, Sherri Jeffers, Oskaloosa, Mary Ann Hansen, Valley Falls, one brother, Claude Gillum, Topeka, one sister, Shirley Kerr, Oskaloosa, 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Visitation services will be 11:00 AM -1:00PM, Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery, Boyle.
