Marcia LaVonne (Collings) Gallian, 94, of Bloomfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Aperion Care in Spencer. Born September 29, 1925 in Mason City, Iowa, she was the daughter of Orval and Velma (Kelley) Collings. Marcia retired in the ordinance department at NSWC Crane. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary in Solsberry. Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Ruth Neill (Don Smith) of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Anita Thompson (Mike), Jeremy Gallian (Rita) and Julie Arvin (Shad); eight great grandchildren, James Mosier, Tyler Schantz, Austin Schantz, Ethan Schantz, Paxton Arvin, Declen Arvin, Anna Gallian and Avery Gallian; and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Gallian of Worthington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Gallian in 1971, one son, Dale Gallian in 2019, a grandson, Allen Neill in 1990, one brother, Rev. Forrest Collings and a sister, Vanita Dopher. There will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the donor’s favorite charity, The Solsberry American Legion or the Solsberry Order of Eastern Star.
