Louis’ Obituary SWARTZ, Louis D. – of Davison, MI, age 78, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Monday, January 20, 2020 at The Baptist Church of Hadley, 4566 Pratt Road, Hadley, MI 48440; Pastor Jesse Loggans officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Baptist Church of Hadley, in memory of Louis. Louis was born in Detroit, MI on October 8, 1941, son of the late Jacob and Caroline (Miszczak) Swartz. He married Karen McLellan on September 17, 1966. Louis retired from the Detroit Free Press after many years of service. He was a member of The Baptist Church of Hadley. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karen Swartz; 4 children, Daniel Swartz, Amanda (Brian) Mulcahey, Valerie (Tom) Taylor and Sarah Swartz; 4 grandchildren; brother, Jerome (Brenda) Swartz; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Caroline Swartz; daughter, Leanne Swartz and brother, Michael Swartz.
