Steinforth, 91, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, January 8, 2020, at Yates Center Health & Rehab. He was born February 15, 1928, on the family farm southwest of Yates Center, the son of Louis A. and Clara Pearl (Bowman) Steinforth. He farmed with his family until joining the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Following his service he returned to the farm and on July 27, 1954, he and Vera Lee Turner were married at the First Christian Church in Yates Center. Loren was in the oil business and farmed and raised livestock. He and Vera Lee loved to go to Branson and Loren enjoyed visiting casinos. His wife, Vera Lee, preceded him in death on November 5, 2009. He was also preceded by his sister, Zelma Marie Stockebrand. He leaves his sons, Dale Steinforth and Jerry Steinforth and wife Carolyn, of Yates Center; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Andrea, Paige, and Jeremy Steinforth. As to his wishes Loren will be cremated. Inurnment will be in Belmont Cemetery southwest of Yates Center.
