Kathleen Ann Huizenga, age 90 of Hastings, ended this life’s journey on January 24, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen was born on August 7, 1929 in Detroit. She was a longtime resident of Wyoming, MI and Hastings, MI. Kathleen worked as an elementary school teacher at West Godwin in Wyoming, MI and was loved by all of her students. She taught for over 39 years before retiring in 1989. In her free time Kathleen enjoyed gardening, painting, and playing cards. Kathleen spent many years wintering at Jet Park in Palmetto, FL where she supported her late husband Bernie who served as the Board of Directors’ President. She will be dearly missed by many friends at Jet Park and her friends in Michigan. Surviving are her children, Bob (Wanita) Huizenga, Deb (Doug) Klug; grandchildren, Samantha Toth, Kristin (Todd) Choryan, Jessica (Ron) Klug, Greg Huizenga, Tim Huizenga; great grandchildren, Lexi Marie Huizenga, Colton Huizenga, Danielle Huizenga, Wyatt Mattoch, Garrett Mattoch; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Burial will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association will be appreciated.
