Joyce Carolyn Head May 28, 1946 – January 26, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Joyce Carolyn Head, age 73, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020. Joyce was born in Lumpkin County on May 28, 1946 to the late Robert James and Hattie Lucille Reeves. She had retired from the University of North Georgia after many years of dedicated work. Joyce lived life to the fullest and sung with all of her heart. Her voice will continue to be held in the ears and hearts of her family and friends. Joyce’s favorite pastimes were playing bingo and going to the beach. She was a loving wife and mother. Joyce was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband Richard Head; step-daughter Nicole Head; step-son Jody Head; grandchildren Austin, Kaitlyn, James, Dakota and Cameron; sister Mildred Norrell; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Johnny Rider; brothers and sisters-in-law Bobby Reeves and Debra Wimpy, and Melvin and Joy Reeves; sister and brother-in-law Glenda and Eddie Palmer, all of Dahlonega; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
