Obituary Joe Don Holt went to be with our Heavenly Father on December 31, 2019, after a 3 year battle with ALS. He is now home and completely healed. Joe passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Joe was born March 26, 1965, in Wichita, Kansas. He was the younger of two boys born to Freddie and Kay (Whitley) Holt. He was raised in San Antonio, Texas, and graduated from Holmes High School. Joe joined the USAF Reserve in 1988 and served as a C5 Loadmaster for the 68th Airlift Squadron at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. On August 30, 1990, Joe’s squadron was activated to serve in the Persian Gulf for Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Joe remained in active service until 1996. After his military service he attended UTSA and was hired by USAA as a licensed Financial Advisor. Joe’s financial experience led him into a 20 year career as a successful city wide Senior Mortgage Advisor, counseling and assisting thousands of people into homes. Joe met Karen in October 1989, and they were married on September 21, 1991. They have shared 28 beautiful years together, along with being blessed with their beloved children, Jordan and Nathan. Music was always a part of Joe’s life. He picked up his first guitar at the age of 11 and never looked back. He had a divine musical talent and God used him through his adult life to touch so many. He served at Castle Hills First Baptist Church, Community Bible Church and ended his journey at his family’s home church of nineteen:ten in Boerne, Texas. Joe was a man who always loved God first, adored his wife and children, and cherished his friendships. His family would like to invite you to celebrate his extraordinary life, legacy, and heavenly homecoming. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 1:00 pm at nineteen:ten Church, 130 Sisterdale Rd., Boerne, Texas 78006.
