Jerry’s Obituary Jerry Don Whitfield, 78, of Tioga, TX, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 in Denton, TX. Jerry was born November 4, 1941 in Victoria, Texas to James Albert and Wilma Jo (Fox) Whitfield. He married Karen Cragg on June 1, 1963 in Ottawa, KS. Prior to retirement, Jerry was the Public Works Director for the city of Aubrey. Jerry proudly served in the United States Air Force. Jerry is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Pam Blair of Tioga, TX and Tammy Meadows and husband, Ed of The Colony, TX; grandchildren, Joseph Bradshaw and wife Robyn, Jordan Meadows and Brandon Meadows; brothers, Jimmie Mayers and wife Kathy of Alvardo, TX and James Whitfield and wife Patricia of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Shelia Hawkins of Fort Worth, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, father, James Albert Whitfield, mother, Wilma Jo Towler and stepfather, Cecil (Bob) Towler; and sister, Dolores Springer. A visitation will be held 1:00 PM-2:00 PM, Friday, January 24, 2020 at Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey, TX. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
