Gary Gene Midyett April 26, 1939 – January 09, 2020 Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Gary Gene Midyett, 80, of Lawrence, formerly of McLouth, died Thursday, January 9, 2020 with his loving family at his side. He was born April 26, 1939 at Lawrence, the son of Orville Howard and Dorothy Helen Dowding Midyett. He was a 1957 graduate of Lawrence High School and attended the University of Kansas. He retired in 1994 after 35 years of working as a shift supervisor for the Dupont/Flexel Company in Tecumseh. Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying nature and the outdoors. He married his wife of 62 years, Erna B. Anthony, his High School Sweetheart, on July 5, 1957 at Osage Beach, MO, she survives at the home. Survivors include a daughter, Jill (Larry) Noll, Nortonville, a son, Lance (Sonja) Midyett, Olathe, one brother, Larry Midyett, Oskaloosa, a sister, Linda Campbell, Lawrence, Six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Cremation care is planned. A Memorial Service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Department of Kansas Wildlife and Parks, Fish and Game in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home/Jefferson County Crematory, P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS, 66066.
