Obituary Mrs. Ethel Lee Dillard Miller, age 91 of West Jefferson, died on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Ashe Assisted Living. Mrs. Miller was born on May 19, 1928 in Ashe County to Bill and Carrie Miller Dillard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert Miller; brothers, Garfield Dillard, Jessie Dean Dillard, Carl Dillard and Johnson Dillard; and sisters, Edna McNeill and Sally Foard. Mrs. Miller enjoyed canning, gardening, and making quilts. She was a hard working person. Mrs. Miller is survived by: four sons, Rev. Gilbert Leon Miller of West Jefferson, Roger Lee Miller of West Jefferson, Benny Dean Miller of Jefferson, and Tracy Lynn Miller of West Jefferson; also surviving are 8 grandsons, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Medi Home Hospice, P.O. Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28640 or Ashe Assisted Living and Memory Care, 182 Chattyrob Lane, West Jefferson, NC 28694. The family is meeting at the home place at 3399 Watertank Road in West Jefferson.
