Obituary Doris C. (Johnson) Skusevich, 94, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Holy Family Hospital, surrounded by her son, family, and loved ones. Doris was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Driscoll) Johnson. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Albert T. Skusevich, and by her siblings, Frank “Bud” Johnson, Evelyn Sullivan, Geraldine Favata, Arthur “Mike” Johnson, Claire Paine, and Warren Johnson. She was also predeceased by her godchildren Michael Johnson and Geraldine (Sullivan) Cocozza. Doris was educated at St. Patrick’s Grammar School and Lawrence High School, class of 1942. She worked in the mills of Lawrence, for Chrysler in Chicago, Ill for a short time, Western Electric, and Raytheon, where she retired from in 1989. She was a parishioner of the former St. Francis of Assisi in Lawrence and was an active member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers there. She was presently a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi parish in Dracut, MA. Doris very much enjoyed family get-togethers so that she could pass along stories of days gone by to her son and many nieces and nephews. She also loved going out to dinner with her son and going on her shopping tours with her niece Kathy. She was always very caring and loving to all those whom knew her. Doris is survived by her loving son Daniel of Methuen, her godchildren and nieces Kathaleen (Paine) Lavoie, Carol Ann (Tarry) Laverriere, Maura (Sullivan) Palmer and several of the most loved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, January 5, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 6, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 115 Wheeler Road, in Dracut, MA. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, MA. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’s memory can be made to St. Francis of Assisi Parish Building Fund, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut, MA or to the charity of one’s choice.
