Obituary NASHUA- Daniel G. LeBlanc, 65, of Nashua, died suddenly on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at his home. Daniel was born in Nashua on March 12, 1954 and was a son of the late Edgar and Monnette (Marquis) LeBlanc. Daniel had been employed by the City of Nashua Parks Department as the head groundskeeper for Holman Stadium prior to his retirement. While initially employed as a truck driver for the City of Nashua, he fell into favor with world-renowned groundskeeper George P. Toma who was impressed enough by “Dan the Man’s” work ethic and willingness to learn to hire him on his NFL Super Bowl grounds crew. For over a decade, Toma’s “Diamond in the Rough” traveled as part of the advance squad weeks prior to the big game to prep the stadium’s field. He saw many games from his priceless sideline vantage point, including many featuring his beloved New England Patriots. Daniel wasn’t starstruck when meeting players or halftime acts as he was more concerned with preserving the turf he was charged with protecting. Much was the case with his beloved turf at Holman Stadium. Working in this capacity for the NFL was his proudest career achievement, never forgetting the road he travelled to achieve it, including an arduous 15 years’ worth of nights, weekends and holidays serving the customers of the former Fred Fuller Oil Company and driving trucks for several local trucking and construction companies. Dan’s trucking career allegedly started as early as Age 13 by driving a dump truck for his uncle’s local construction company. In his free time, Daniel loved to spend time with friends, especially at The Club National. He also historically enjoyed camping, attending local race tracks – often assisting in his son, Matthew’s, pit crew – or competing in bowling, cribbage and golf leagues. Daniel is survived by two sons; Peter LeBlanc and his wife Melissa of Dover and Matthew LeBlanc of Nashua; brother Paul LeBlanc and his wife Diane of Naples, Fl., mother-of-their-children, friend and former wife, Joanne LeBlanc of Merrimack; Brother-in-Law Thomas Nutting of Merrimack; three grandchildren, Andrew, Alayna and Claire, all of Dover; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, inclusive of good friend Pam Johnson of Nashua. Daniel is predeceased by his sister Denise (LeBlanc) Nutting. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on SUNDAY, January 5, 2020 from 11 AM until 1 PM at ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Service will take place at 1 PM in the funeral home following visitation. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
